A new range of eco-friendly garments caught our eye this week, called the “Écologie” range from AWDis. This exciting new range features regenerated and reprocessed pre-consumer cotton, which is collected from the offcuts of the garment industry. The fabric is reprocessed using an innovative chemical-free technique that turns these offcuts back into yarn, ready for weaving or knitting.
These garments are all suitable for printing or embroidery, making them an excellent option for informal, but socially responsible, workwear or teamwear.
The Écologie range includes T-shirts made from 100% regenerated organic cotton, such as the EA001 Cascades Tee and the EA001F Cascades ladies Tee, both available in ten eye-catching colours with a luxurious soft hand feel.
The unisex EA003 Tulum Tee has a striking marl effect thanks to a blend of regenerated pre-consumer cotton waste of different shades.
The new unisex EA033 Galapagos Sweatshirt also features a striking marl effect fabric, in this case manufactured from 70% regenerated cotton. An attractive contrast is provided by the solid colours used for the collar and angled cuffs.
Knitted sweater options include the EA060 Arenal Knit Sweater and the EA061 Wakhan 1/4 Zip Knit Sweater, ideal for cooler days and suitable for casual and more formal situations.
Several hooded tops are also available in the Écologie range, including the EA080 Iguazu Knitted Hoody, which features a chunky tuck stitch and ribbed hem and cuffs. This stylish and rugged top, manufactured using 70% regenerated cotton, also features drawcords around the hood, to keep out the cold air and hold the hood in place on a windy day.
For a zipped hoody (aka “zoody”) design, look no further than the EA051 Okavango Zoody. Like a number of other products in the range, it is made from 70% regenerated cotton, with a brushed inner surface and peached outer surface, giving a luxurious, soft feel to a desirable garment that is finished off with contrast colour details and a drawstring hood.
